Work in Canada
If you are coming to Canada to study but want a more valuable experience in the country, you may want to consider to Work in Canada. When thinking of applying for a job, consider the programs and the type of student permit you have.
Canadian Government gives you the possibility of working under the following programs :
- Working on-campus (full-time students with a valid study permit at a public post-secondary institution, such as a college or university in Quebec, a private post-secondary institution or a Canadian private institution)
- Working off-campus (have a valid study permit, be a full-time student, be enrolled at a designated learning institution, be studying in an academic, vocational or professional training program that leads to a degree, diploma or certificate that is at least six months in duration)
- Work as co-op or intern (valid study permit, intended employment must be an essential part of program of study, employment must be part of academic, vocational or professional training program offered by a designated learning institution, co-op or internship employment cannot form more than 50% of the total program of study)
Note: you do not need a valid work permit to be eligible to apply for a job under the programs Working On-Campus and Working Off-Campus. For the Work as Co-Op or Intern you need to apply first for a Work Permit.
